New Financial Assistance Option for Les Roches & Glion

By Joe Monastero, Executive Director, Global Field and LIU Enrollment Strategy

After a lot of hard work by many, and the help of the Laureate International Financial Assistance team, we are excited to announce that both Glion and Les Roches have been added to the list of approved institutions by Sallie Mae, a third party university tuition lender. What does this mean for us? Quite a lot, actually. Effective immediately, any United States citizen, regardless of residency location, may apply to Sallie Mae for a low interest loan towards tuition at any of Glion or Les Roches' campuses.

While this news certainly means a lot to our North American enrollment team members, this impacts all of us. As you are counseling potential students in your regions and encounter U.S. citizens, you now have at your disposal a very powerful assistance tool. We recommend that you take a moment to look at your lead lists and consider reaching out to any potential students whom are U.S. citizens that did not move forward because of financial reasons and reach out to them to discuss this new opportunity.

How Does Sallie Mae Work?

Applying for a Sallie Mae loan is quite simple. Concurrent with applying to one of our institutions the potential student completes an online Sallie Mae profile. While both the Glion and Les Roches marketing teams are busy adding language to their respective websites about this opportunity, and links to the Sallie Mae site, you can direct your students to begin the Sallie Mae process at https://www.salliemae.com.

Once a U.S. Citizen has been accepted into Glion or Les Roches, and has been approved by Sallie Mae, they will be able to apply these funds towards their tuition. Laureate International Financial Assistance is currently training team members at both institutions to process these loan payments.

If you have any questions regarding how Sallie Mae funding works, or how you may leverage this opportunity with potential students from U.S. expat families in your region, etc., please reach out to your RAD and work with the EMD Senior Operations Management team.
